The Fendi line began back in 1918 when Adele Casagrande opened a leather and fur store in Rome . While this first store didn't bear the Fendi name, that changed when Adele married Edoardo Fendi a few years later. Soon, the Fendi store became known for its baguette bags, fragrances, and furs. Adele and Edoardo had five daughters, and all five became involved with the family business as it expanded.

In 1965, Fendi and the Karl Lagerfeld company merged, and the two continued doing business under the Fendi name. It was at this time that the famous FF logo was designed and began appearing on Fendi products. It was also around this time that Fendi debuted its first full fur collection.

Today, Fendi continues to produce furs and other luxury items from its headquarters in Rome . With three generations of Fendi now working at the company, the Fendi tradition and promise of high quality goods will continue for quite some time.
