No one would have thought in 1854 that Louis Vuitton would become one of the biggest names in fashion. After all, he was just a small trunk manufacturer in Paris at the time. However, his high-quality trunks soon became a hug success, and Vuitton expanded and relocated his company to Asniéres in 1860. From there, the Louis Vuitton line exploded, earning a bronze medal at the 1867 World’s Fair and a gold at the 1889 event. Today, Louis Vuitton makes much more than just trunks. His company, known by its beige and chestnut monogram “LV” is one of the most well known luxury companies in the world.
Louis Vuitton passed away in 1892, but he was succeeded by his son Georges. Georges took what his father started and expanded on it in every way he could, creating the designer label and the LV monogram. Since then, Louis Vuitton has become synonymous with high-quality luxury goods.
